Double Steamed Swallow Red Nest with Dried Osmanthus and Lotus Seeds
Ingredients :
- Red Nest
- 1 to 2 tbsp of Dried Osmanthus
- Coreless lotus seeds
- Rock sugar
- Water
Instructions :
- Boil water and add some rock sugar and the washed lotus seeds, don’t cover up the pot.
- Add the prepared Golden Nest Premium Red Bird’s Nest, rock sugar and dried osmanthus to a ceramic pot.
- Add water to about 80% full.
- Wrap the pot with cling wrap to trap the steam inside and put it in a double boiler.
- After an hour, the lotus seed should be tender and the water level is reduced.
- The swallow nest in the ceramic pot should be ready as well.
- Scoop the swallow nest into a smaller bowl, add the lotus seed on top and serve.
Notes :
- The lotus seed is cooked separately from the swallow nest to make the soup clearer and to make the lotus seed candied.
